These grated potato cakes (similar to hash browns, but without the onion) can be deep or pan fried. They are excellent with meat, but quite delicious on their own. Children love them.

Step by step recipe

1 Grated potato cakes : Photo of step #1Peel 350 g potatoes and rinse. 10 min.

3 Grated potato cakes : Photo of step #3Transfer the grated potatoes to colander or strainer and rinse thoroughly (the water running through the potatoes should be clear).

It is best to use a dessert ring about 8 cm (3 inches) in diameter to keep the cake neat and round.

I advise you to make all the cakes on a baking sheet and to freeze uncooked any you will not be using immediately.

Remarks
