This is a quick tomato sauce, just the thing for dipping crisps (chips, if you are American), or nachos. It is very similar to the sauce served with aperitif snacks in Tex-Mex restaurants.

Step by step recipe

Hot tomato sauce : Photo of step #1 Peel 500 g tomato and dice small.

Hot tomato sauce : Photo of step #2 Take 1/3 of the tomatoes and blend them.

Hot tomato sauce : Photo of step #3 Peel 100 g red onion and chop finely.

Peel 1 garlic clove and chop finely.

Hot tomato sauce : Photo of step #4 Tip the diced tomatoes into a bowl, as the chopped onion and garlic, the juice of 1 lime and 2 tablespoons olive oil to taste, then salt and pepper.

Remarks

This is a very approximate recipe, so do feel free to adapt it to your taste by ading a little more of this, a little less of that, especially the Tabasco. You can use chilli pepper if you prefer.
