Step by step recipe
- 1: We begin by measuring a litre of water at room temperature, and put it in a pan on a gas ring until it boils.
Time taken: 9 minutes 20 seconds. - 2: Second stage: the same pan is allowed to cool, then another litre of water at room temperature is put on an electric ring and heated until it boils.
Time taken: 9 minutes 30 seconds. - 3: Third stage: the same pan is allowed to cool, and another litre of water at room temperature is put on an induction hob and heated until it boils.
Time taken: 4 minutes 25 seconds. - 4: Here is a graphic summary of the three measurements, a curve for each cooking method.
One can see that the induction (blue) is a lot faster than either the gas (green) or electricity (red).
Remarks
There is no doubt,
induction is twice as fast as the others.
