3: In a large saucepan over medium heat, pour in 4 tablespoons olive oil and when hot add onion, 1 bayleaf, 1 sprig thyme, 1 garlic clove, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
4: Add the green beans.
5: Then 500 g peeled and chopped tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and mix well.
6: Cover, lower the heat and cook gently until the beans are tender. Remove and discard the bay leaf, thyme sprig and garlic clove.
