Vin jaune

Vin jaune is an iconic wine from the Jura region in France, made exclusively from the Savagnin grape variety.
It is the result of a long aging process in barrels—6 years and 3 months—under a veil of yeast, which gives it its golden color and intense nutty aromas.
It is bottled in a special bottle called a clavelin, which holds just 62 cl.
When used in cooking, it adds a refined and unique flavor to sauces, poultry, fish, mushrooms, and cheeses.
If you intend to buy: Vin jaune is an exceptional wine, but it’s quite expensive.
You can also use wines made from the Savagnin grape variety in recipes—such as Arbois, Côtes-du-Jura, and L’Étoile—which are more affordable.
