Said of cooking with a lid.Example: "Cover and cook the beans for 30 minutes."
Meaning: Cook the white beans in their own pot, with a lid.
Remarks: By cooking with the lid on, the food or the preparation in the pan won't be able to evacuate the steam generated by cooking, so it won't shrink or dry out.
