Stage 1
You should not soak strawberries in water
If you soak them, they will absorb water and lose all their flavour, especially if you have already removed the green top (the "hat"), like on this photo.

Stage 2 - 10 min.
You should not soak strawberries in water
With strawberries, it's absolutely essential to minimise contact with water, so do not wash, but brush them gently with a small brush, then remove the green part.

If they are really dirty, rinse quickly under cold water and drain immediately. Then remove the green part, but only afterwards.

Stage 3
You should not soak strawberries in water
You can then use them whole or in pieces.
