Step by step recipe


Stage 1 - 20 min.
Apple macaronade
Peel 6 lb + 9.6 oz apple, cut each one into quarters and remove the core.

Cut the quarters into small pieces, put in a bowl and drizzle with lemon juice.

Stage 2 - 3 min.
Apple macaronade
Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C).

Butter an oven-proof dish and add the apple pieces.

Stage 3 - 4 min.
Apple macaronade
In a bowl, whisk together 14.1 oz cream and 7.0 oz caster sugar.

Stage 4 - 1 min.
Apple macaronade
Pour this mixture over the apples.

Stage 5 - 5 min.
Apple macaronade
If not already made, prepare 1 lb + 1.6 oz Macaronade mixture.

Stage 6 - 2 min.
Apple macaronade
Scatter over the apples.

Stage 7 - 40 min.
Apple macaronade
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
Remarks
You can vary this with different fruit in season (pears, quinces...) or a mix of fruits.

If you don't have any macaronade, or the time to make it, add 3 oz (100 g) of ground almonds to the cream and sugar mixture.
Keeping
1 or 2 days in the fridge, covered with plastic film.
