Step by step recipe


Stage 1 - 20 min.
Green beans with tomato and cheddar cheese
Prepare 700 g green beans, cut into pieces.

Stage 2 - 5 min.

Prepare and chop 1 onion.

Stage 3 - 1 min.

In a large saucepan over medium heat, pour in 4 tablespoons olive oil and when hot add onion, 1 bayleaf, 1 sprig thyme, 1 garlic clove, salt and pepper.

Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Stage 4 - 1 min.
Green beans with tomato and cheddar cheese
Add the green beans.

Stage 5 - 2 min.
Green beans with tomato and cheddar cheese
Then 500 g peeled and chopped tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and mix well.

Stage 6 - 20 min.
Green beans with tomato and cheddar cheese
Cover, lower the heat and cook gently until the beans are tender.

Remove and discard the bay leaf, thyme sprig and garlic clove.

Stage 7 - 2 min.
Green beans with tomato and cheddar cheese
To finish, add grated 80 g Cheddar cheese...

Stage 8 - 2 min.
Green beans with tomato and cheddar cheese
...and stir well to melt and bind.

Check seasoning.

Serve piping hot.
Remarks
You can use cooked green beans if you prefer, but of course the cooking time will be much shorter.

Cheddar cheese can be replaced by another hard cheese of your choice (Comté, Tomme, etc.), but this is not a requirement.
Keeping: 1 or 2 days in the fridge, protected by cling film.
