Hot tomato sauce
This is a quick tomato sauce, just the thing for dipping crisps (chips, if you are American), or nachos. It is very similar to the sauce served with aperitif snacks in Tex-Mex restaurants.

Step by step recipe


Stage 1 - 20 min.
Hot tomato sauce
Peel 500 g tomato and dice small.

Stage 2 - 5 min.
Hot tomato sauce
Take 1/3 of the tomatoes and blend them.

Stage 3 - 10 min.
Hot tomato sauce
Peel 100 g red onion and chop finely.

Peel 1 garlic clove and chop finely.

Stage 4 - 2 min.
Hot tomato sauce
Tip the diced tomatoes into a bowl, as the chopped onion and garlic, the juice of 1 lime and 2 tablespoons olive oil to taste, then salt and pepper.

Stage 5 - 1 min.
Hot tomato sauce
Add the blended tomatoes.

Stage 6 - 2 min.
Hot tomato sauce
Finally, add the roughly chopped coriander and mix well.

Stage 7 - 2 min.
Hot tomato sauce
Divide between bowls to put on the table.
Remarks
This is a very approximate recipe, so do feel free to adapt it to your taste by ading a little more of this, a little less of that, especially the Tabasco. You can use chilli pepper if you prefer.

A margarita or maybe a Corona.
Keeping: A few days in the fridge, protected with plastic film.
