Tzatziki is an ideal summer recipe: a cooling combination of Greek yoghurt, onion, garlic, cucumber and herbs. It is normally served as a side dish or condiment.

This is a Greek recipe, but similar dishes exist in other eastern and middle-eastern countries, under different names.

Step by step recipe


Stage 1 - 5 min.
Tzatziki
Peel 3 onions and chop small.

Do the same with the garlic.

Stage 2 - 5 min.

Peel 3 cucumbers and cut into small dice.

Stage 3 - 1 min.

Break up 300 g feta roughly with a fork.

Stage 4 - 3 min.
Tzatziki
Finely chop 6 tablespoons fresh mint leaves and 6 tablespoons parsley.

Stage 5 - 2 min.
Tzatziki
Mix in a bowl the garlic, onion, feta and herbs.

Add 300 g Greek yoghurt, 6 tablespoons olive oil and 3 tablespoons lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Tzatziki
Check the seasoning and your tzatziki is ready. You can serve it with fried croutons, vegetable sticks or radishes.
Remarks
