Stage 1 - 3 min.
Grilled ham and bechamel sandwiches
Cut 200 g ham in small dices.

I use here a heel of ham, but no problem to use slices, cut them if possible in strips in this case.

Prepare 1 shallot and slice it.

Place 4 slices bread in a baking sheet protected by a sheet of baking paper.

You can toast the slices (like the ones on the left in the photo) if you like the crunchiness, but it's not necessary.

Spread each slice of bread with a generous layer of béchamel.

Spread the grilled ham.

Stage 10 - 3 min.

Sprinkle with grated cheese.

Stage 11 - 20 min.
Grilled ham and bechamel sandwiches
Put in the oven for about 20 minutes, watch the coloring and don't hesitate to finish with a small blow of grill.

Stage 12
Grilled ham and bechamel sandwiches
Serve hot or warm.
Remarks
You can replace the ham with lardons, or even leftover cold cuts.
Keeping: Best eaten fresh from the oven, but can be reheated.
